About the author

John L. Volakis is the Roy and Lois Chope Chair Professor of Engineering and also serves as Director of the Electroscience Laboratory. A native of Chios, Greece, Dr. Volakis obtained his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 1982 and was a professor at The University of Michigan (1984-2002) prior to returning to The Ohio State University. He has co-authored over 240 journal articles and 350 conference papers, and is co-author of the books: Approximate Boundary Conditions in Electromagnetics (IEE Press) Finite Element Method for Electromagnetics (IEEE Press-Wiley), and Frequency Domain Hybrid Finite Element Methods in Electromagnetics (Morgan & Claypool). Dr. Volakis is a Fellow of IEEE and a former President of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. He graduated/mentored over 50 Ph.D. students/post-docs and is listed by ISI among the top 250 most referenced authors in Engineering/Computer Science.
