This is the 3rd edition (2nd American edition) of James Joyce's acclaimed first novel, being a reprint of the first Egoist Press edition, and purportedly printed in a quantity of less than 1000. The book has the original bookseller's ticket of the famous original "Shakespeare and Company" bookstore (open from 1919-1941) in Paris, located at the bottom right corner of the interior back cover. Binding with some smudges and water stains to covers. Spine with some rubbing, chipping, and closed tears, along hinges and at head & tail. Corners and edges rubbed. Light spotting and smudging along the top and side edges of the book. Interior with pages lightly age toned. Sporadic light smudges, as well as marking pencil and pen to a few pages. Starting at p.172 and p.188. Book block slightly loose. Binding in good-, interior in overall good.
