About This Item

1994. Founded in 1880 by Unitarian minister Charles Wesley Emerson as the Boston Conservatory of Elocution, Oratory, and Dramatic Art, Emerson College is a private liberal arts college with its main campus in Boston Massachusetts. It became known as Emerson College in 1939. Provenance: This volume is customized on the front cover with the name of Jacqueline Liebergott. Liebergott was the first (and so far the only) female president of Emerson College, elected in 1993. She retired in 2011. You'll find her photograph on page 174. The book is a 4to size navy blue leatherette hardcover with gilt foil titles on spine and cover and decorations on front cover; 224 heavyweight glossy pages profusely illustrated with black and white and some color photographs. The gilt illustration on the front cover is a stylized depiction of the Emerson College seal. The black and white senior photographs of the graduating students are in a variety of styles, with some reflecting their experience in the performing arts. Most senior profiles also include a personalized statement from the graduate, with many acknowledging family. We also noted many personalized advertisements, including full page ads, congratulating specific graduates with some including family photographs. Reverend Emerson could have hardly imagined that Emerson College would become known for graduating many leading comics including: Mario Cantone, Jay Leno, Denis Leary and Andrea Martin (none of whom were in the Class of 1994.) This volume is in great condition. . Leatherette. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Private Press.
