Finely bound in late twentieth century leather binding. Quarter brown morocco with blind ruling and gilt lettering to the spine. Brown cloth on boards. Decorative floral endpapers.Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. A fine copy of this beautiful edition. Most of the first printing of 1940 was destroyed by the bombing of the publishers warehouse during the Blitz.:

Spine lettered in gilt. Marbled paper on boards. Previous owners armorial bookplate on front paste down endpaper. Some chipping to the spine ends otherwise a very good copy.

Printed for Royal St. George's by Pain & Sons, Sandwich and Deal, Kent. England. 1927. 4pp score chart showing the names of he players in the 1st heat, played on April 15th, 1927, plus those players with a bye to the second heat, played on the same day. The spaces to write in the competitors that moved through the heat stages have not been filled in. The whole opened sheet measures 16.6 x 13.2 inches and folds down to a slim 3.3 x 8.3 inches to allow for fitting into a pocket. Creases on the folds, as expected, but overall in very good condition.

Nister & Co.Ltd.,Circa 1906. FIRST EDITION WITH THESE ILLUSTRATIONS. Oblong Large 12mo. (10.8 x 8.3 inches). 12 fine colour plates. A lovely copy in publishers glazed boards. The front board in full colour. Green cloth spine. In the rare original dustwrapper which is split along the spine and in two pieces, held together by a wrapper protector. Thumb sized piece missing from the middle of the spine and front panel but overall the wrapper is in very good condition. A rare survivor.:

There is some foxing throughout much the book, mostly to the top third of the pages and fairly light but in some cases darker and over more of the page. Conyemporary half dark brown morocco. Spine with raised bands. Compartments lettered and decorated in gilt. Marbled paper on boards and endpapers. Previous owners bookplate on front pastedown endpaper. Neat previous owners name, dated Xmas '98 on front blank endpaper. Overall a near to very good copy of this beautifully illustrated title.:

Small amount of rubbing to the very bottom of the spine, which shows some minor and uiniform fading. Overall a very good, tight and bright copy.:

T. N. Foulis. London & Edinburgh. 1913. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (8.8 x 5.4 inches). Illustrated with 10 fine colour tipped-in plates, each with a tissue guard. A clean and tight copy in original publishers delux full purple suede binding with oversized yapp edges. Gilt lettering on the spine. Front board with black lettering. All edges gilt. Previous owners neat name on the front free endpaper otherwise a fine and bright copy of this pretty book.

Printed by J. Catnach, 2, Monmouth Court, 7 Dials. London. - No date. Circa 1830. (3.4 x 2.4 inches). 32pp. Sewn into plain yellow paper wraps. Illustrated with ten wood engraved vignettes and decorative head piece on the first page, plus one leaf with four lines of music, for voice and violin, for the song The Southern Breezes. Page edges a bit creased and rubbed and a small stain to the rear blank wrap, but overall a very good copy. Contains a short anti slavery verse, simply entitled The Slave. --- Rare. No copies listed on Worldcat or Copac. "One class of literature which Jemmy Catnach made â by reason of greater mechanical skill and a larger capital than his rivals â almost his own, was children's farthing, halfpenny, and penny books." - The history of the Catnach press by Charles Hindley. 1886. Catnach was publishing at this address between c. 1813 and his retirement in 1838.
