Kansas City: Bekay Publishing Company, 1961. Author Betty Kalikow, who died in 2021, ran a Kansas City, MO catering business for many decades. This was her second book. 8vo size plastic spiral comb binding; 96 pages with some black and white decorations Although it looks like a community cookbook, recipes do not include the names of the contributor. There is a page in the beginning of the book which is a list of friends and family who have contributed recipes. This list includes the person's name, and city and state (family historians take note.) There is an index by category. Recipes were "authenticated" by Rabbi Abraham Danzig, Beth Israel Abraham, Kansas City, MO. There is no Table of Contents. The contents include: Appetizers Soups Mom's Favorites Meats - Fowl Fish Salads - Molds Vegetables Sauces & Salad Dressings Breads-Rolls Desserts Cakes & Icings Pies Cookies Passover Items Candy Recipes include: Chopped Herring Salad; Bean & Barley Soup; Potato Kugel; Stuffed Veal Breast; Brisket of Beef with Beans; Pitcha; Halibut Salad; Gefilte Fish; Fluffy Cheese and Peach Salad; Beet Salad; Carrot Pudding; Israeli Rice; Coffee Cake with Brown Sugar Topping; Nancy's Sour Cream Chocolate Cake; Nesselrod Pie; Frozen Lemon Pie; Strudel; 2 Tone Brownies; Orange Cookies; Canadian Kanich Brint or Mondel Bread; Vegetable Charlotte; Nut Stuffed Dates; Bebalas; Stuffed Helzel; Liver and Noodles; Meat Kreplach; Salmon Croquettes; Corn Pudding; Apple Albert; Sunshine Cake; Teiglach, more. A recipe (unsigned) cut from a newspaper for Hamantashchen is tucked into the book. The top plastic spool is broken; there is a crease, spot and water ring on front cover. There are spots on page 38, 78-83 and 91-94 and some soil and a water ring on back cover. . Spiral Comb. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Private Press.
