Small 8vo, approximately 180 x 100 mm, 7 x 4 inches, portrait frontispiece to each volume of Linnaeus and Pennant, hand-coloured vignette on each engraved title page, and 64 hand-coloured plates with tissue guards engraved by W. H. Lizars, who was a painter and engraver as well as publisher, plus memoirs of Linnaeus and Welsh zoologist Thomas Pennant, original wrapper in front of first volume.
