About This Item
Garcia Marquez, Gabriel. Leaf Storm and Other Stories. New York: Harper & Row, 1972. First Printing of the First Edition. ISBN: 060127791. A Fine tight copy in a Fine unclipped dust jacket. This is Garcia Marquez's third book and the seven stories include: Leaf Storm, The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World, A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings, Blacaman the Good, Vendor of Miracles, The Last Voyage of the Ghost Ship, Monologue of Isabel Watching It Rain in Macondo, Nabo. "Leaf Storm and Other Stories" was Marquez's first book, begun when he was 19. In some of these beautiful early stories Marquez's typical double vision of the natural world as inherently a fable, a story to be told and retold rather than something "real," expresses itself with perfect charm.
