About This Item

Berkeley, California: University of California Press. First Edition. Softcover. Near Fine. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Exceedingly scarce in the trade, as any copies of this literary journal, which ran only from 1945 to 1949, are difficult to come by. A lot of six (6) issues of The Trollopian: A Journal of Victorian Fiction, being Volume 2, Number 4 for March, 1948; Volume 3, Number 1 for June, 1948; Volume 3, Number 2 for September, 1948; Volume 3, Number 3 for December, 1948; Volume 3, Number 4 for March, 1949; and Volume 4, Number 1 for June, 1949. Each Issue shows some spotting to the lower edge, some of the spine staples show some rusting, some of the issues show some minor surface damage, and there is some general toning to the wrappers. Else and withal, Very Good-plus condition to each issue and clean and unmarked of interior. Altogether, the various issues contain: "Who was Dick Datchery? A Study for Droodians" (Part One and Part Two) by Richard M. Baker; "What I Was Told" by Muriel R. Trollope (Henry Merivale Trollope's daughter and thus Anthony Trollope's granddaughter); "Trollope and Little Dorrit" by Bradford A. Booth; "A Census of Bronte Manuscripts in the United States" by Mildred G. Christian , Parts Two, Three (Letters), Four (Letters Continued), and Five (Letters Concluded); "Mary Barton: A Victorian Best Seller" by Annette B. Hopkins; "Mapmaking in Barsetshire" by Lance O.
