Prague: Skerik (Prumyslova tiskarna) 1929.. 8vo. 204, [8] p. Original publisher's wrapper with flaps.. Elegant edition with Lautreamont's (i.e. Isidore-Lucien Ducasse, 1846-1870) only works, "Les Chants de Maldoror" and "Poesies", most influential for the surrealist movement, with a splendid cover design reduced to function by Vit Obrtel, elegantly contrasting Vallotton's well-known expressive woodcut portrait of the author attached as frontispiece. - The fragile cover is professionally restored. otherwise very clean copy indeed of the normal edition on stronger machine mould paper titled "Antik", after 50 copies on Holland Van Gelder (numbered I-L) and 200 on Simili Japan (1-200). - Obrtel: 1992, p. 53, no. 23 (bibliography).
