Arthur Kopit's first play - an absurdist farce set in a posh hotel - took the theatre world by storm, winning the Drama Desk's Vernon Rice award and inspiring a hit film. HERMIONE GINGOLD FRONTIS. 89 pages. 5 3/4 X 8 1/2. Produced on Broadway by Roger L. Stevens. Directed by Jose Ferrer. Also produced as a film starring Rosaline Russell and Howard Morse. Plot Summary: "Described by Kopit as a "farce in three scenes", the story involves an overbearing mother who travels to a luxury resort in the Caribbean, bringing along her son and her deceased husband, preserved and in his casket."
