Boston: Beacon Press, 1972. First edition of the Pentagon Papers. Octavo, original orange wrappers as issued. Boldly signed by both Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn on the title page. Very good in wrappers. Official documentation of American policy in Vietnam became public property in 1971, against the wishes of the U.S. Government. The Pentagon Papers, as this documentation came to be known, became the subject of great criticism, particularly by historians and social activists including Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn. Volume Five of this compilation of critical essays include contributors Nina S. Adams, Wilfred Butchett, and John W. Dower.
