NY: Blue Ribbon, 1933. First edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. Pictorial paper boards. Four large, colorful pop-ups. Full color endpapers. Text illustrations in black and cream. Original colorfully printed boards. The four large pop-ups are in fine condition. There is some age-browning to the boards, and both corners are bumped, but this is a very good copy. With the scarce pictorial dustwrapper, also lightly age-browned else in very good condition. Overall, a nice copy of this early Disney work.

Rowlandson that appeared in Warne's "Tiny Tots Animal Book" (in Warne's 'Popular Picture Books Series'). The illustrations include a particulary fine study of a Jack Russel Terrier and her puppies; a "rare breed"sow and her piglets; a cock, hen and chicks; the other illustrations are Guinea Pigs; Red Squirrel; Pigeons and final a study of Grey Squirrels. The illustrations are in watercolour on thick card; all are signed G. D. Rowlandson or initialed G. D. R. The dimensions are approx. 135 x 230mm; most with contemporary brown paper protectors. All are in very good condition. One of the hardest to find Seuss first editions. Written by Seuss using the pseudonym of LeSieg. 1st edition, 1st printing of number 19 in the Beginner Book series.Hardcover in VG condition with light tip wear and wear at top and bottom of binding. Dust Jacket has wear, chipping along top and bottom edge, a little age discoloration on inner top edge, a few indentations on front from pen or pencil pressure, and a small piece missing on bottom edge. No markings. Pages clean and crisp.

Pictorial endpapers; color illustrations on nearly every page. Spine ends a tad rubbed, else a fine copy in original color pictorial dust jacket (slight edgewear). Lengthy inscription from the author/artist, Caldecott Medalist Leo Politi, with a large original watercolor of a vase of flowers.
First edition. A celebration of the many cultures that make up America and the way each celebrates its own traditions during the holiday season. The original watercolor by Politi is lush and detailed, even by his standards.

Explanatory text in German and French.The Picture-Book was published in 12 volumes from 1790 to 1843 and eventually included 1,185 handcoloured copperplates. Bertuch wished to reproduce the magic of discovery, and mixed engravings of plants, animals, shells, minerals, volcanoes and technical inventions in a utopian chaos, so that a child could encounter afresh the wonders of the natural world at the turn of every page. Illustrated with a colour frontis and forty nine full colour plates, all mounted onto thick art paper pages at back of book, each one with a printed tissue guard. Decorative endpapers with map of Kensington Gardens. A near fine, bright and clean copy throughout in original russet cloth binding with gilt stamped decoration and lettering to front board and spine. Very minor rubbing to hinges and a small bump to the lower front board at the outer corner, but overall a beautiful clean copy of this classic. Among the very best of Rackham's work.

Corners a bit worn, edges lightly so, covers lightly soiled, else internally a sharp, bright copy. Rare.
First editon. Vasnetsov's most famous illustrated work, published on May 26 1899 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Pushkin's birth. Vasntsov's chromolithographs are truly enchanting – bursting with glorious color and capturing the power of Pushkin's lush tale. Kilgour 897.
