All'interno dell'opera sono presenti finissime incisioni la gran parte illustrazioni anatomiche, basate in parte sui disegni manoscritti di Cartesio e in parte curat da Louis de La Forge (1632-1666) e Gérard van Gutschoven (fl. 1660). Prefazione a cura di Claude Clerselier (1596-1650) allievo di Cartesio. In ottime condizioni. Coperta in piena pergamena con titolo in oro dorso in ottime condizioni generali con lievi usure ai margini e dorso. Legatura in buone condizioni. Pagine in ottime condizioni con fioriture. Lievi gore d'umidità marginali. Bruniture. Piccola macchia di inchiostro di 1 cm a pagina 171 e 173 con legegra perdita di testo. In 4. 210 x 160 mm [(80)+239+(1)]. Peso Kg. 0,520. Edition of 1686 of this important work by the french phylosopher René Descartes (1596-1650), the first approach of explanation of human physiology. The fine woodcuts, mainly anatomical illustrations, were partly based on Descartes' drawings from the manuscript and partly prepared by Louis de La Forge (1632-1666) and Gérard van Gutschoven (fl. 1660). Prefation by Claude Clerselier (1596-1650) pupil of Descartes.
