Robert Benchley (1889 - 1954) was, in his lifetime, one of America's most renowned humorists. He got his start at "The Harvard Lampoon", but it was his many humorous sketches and stories for magazines such as "Vanity Fair", and "The New Yorker" that brought him accolades form the public. He was, also, one of the group of wits known as The Algonquin Round Table. (which also included Dorothy Parker, Harpo Marx, and Alexander Woollcott). "My Ten Years in a Quandary, and How They Grew" collects together 105 short humorous sketches by Benchley. Critical acclaim for this book was unanimous, and the book is generally considered to be one of Benchley's most brilliant works. This book is graced by the equally brilliant cover art and interior illustrations of Gluyas Williams, whose cartoon art was familiar to millions of readers of "The New Yorker", "Life", "Colliers" , and other popular magazines.
