Oblong hardcover, yellow illustrated boards with art work repeated on similarly colored dust-jacket. Dust-jacket not price clipped, retaining original $3.00 price, indicating first state. Signed by Gorey on title-page. Illustrated throughout with Gorey's quirky drawings, printed on rectos only. Unpaginated. First edition [printing unknown, with only copyright date of 1969 provided and no additional printings listed]. Previous owner's book-plate [Rebekah ___ ] on first blank free end-paper and "for Rebekah' on upper title-page with printed author's name crossed out with single ink line and the author's signature directly above. A clean, sound, unmarked copy with all pages firmly attached and no marking internally or to covers. Dust-jacket shows mild toning to spine and very light staining to rear panel. Very good in a very good dust-jacket. .
