Lawrence discussing what is considered clean and dirty in society, and how art and literature is thus influenced. He describes "phallic sex," as 'a creative flow,' while defining pornography as an 'attempt to insult sex and the human spirit.' GOOD condition. Some scuffing and chipping along the extremities, with loss of wrapper at the upper left corner. Some soiling and toning to the wrappers, rendering them somewhat grubby in appearance. Minor toning to the text block.

Faber asked Home Secretary Lord Brentford to write an essay in favor of censorship to counter Lawrence's. Lawrence was eletaed when his pamphlet sold etter than his rivals. Roberts A49a.

The pages are clean and nearly appear unread with only initials written in pen at the top of the first page. There is foxing on the blank back-side of the outer wrap. Overall the book is in Good condition.
