The Midland Railway was the third largest railway undertaking in the British Isles, established 1844. In a red cloth binding. Externally, sound with heavy rubbing and staining to boards. Spine browned with splitting to the cloth at the head. Both hinges tender. Internally, generally firmly bound although strained in places, with map at page 560 loosening.
