Washington, D. C: Government Printing Office, 1959. HB. Blue cloth, gilt lettering on spine and gilt seal of the U.S. Navy on front cover, large 8vo, xxxvi, 1042 pp. Blue endpapers with an organizational chart of the Navy Department as of June 15, 1943. Presentation copy, warmly inscribed as follows: "Inscribed to Fred S. Meigs whose extraordinary proficiency as a librarian was of inestimable help to me in writing this book. Julius A. Furer, Washington D.C., August 18, 1960." Meigs was a librarian at the Navy Library in Washington. Included is a tipped in card, taped to the ffep, presenting this book to Meigs from Rear Admiral Ernest McNeill Eller, who wrote the introduction to this book. Clean, unmarked book, binding tight. An exhaustive analysis of Navy administrative efforts during World War II. Book condition VG+, with the covers showing just a hint of shelf wear.
