The copyright page shows the 1925 date and the words FIRST EDITION. Below that is the 'D-Y' code for a 1st edition. The jacket bears a medallion clearly stating 'The New Zane Grey Novel 1949'. The front flap of the jacket has the $1.25 price. Bound in red cloth covered boards, with black lettering on the spine, and the publisher's slug in black and red in the bottom corner of the top board. A very good copy with moderate wear to the spine ends and corners. The jacket is in good condition. There is a one-inch square missing from the base of the spine, heavy wear to the head of the spine. internal water staining, and some really awful tape holding the front flap. It's a little like closing the barn door after the horse get out, but the jacket is now protected with a Brodart cover.
