Planned before the war, but published after its outbreak, Rosinksi traces the history of the German military from the days of Frederick the Great through to its evolution into the Reichswehr. Original black cloth, spine lettered in red. With dust jacket reproducing photograph of the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Munich. W. Heffer and Sons bookseller ticket to front pastedown. Light spotting to endpapers, facing leaves, and edges, small patch of discolouration to top edge and rear pastedown, still a very good copy in the scarce jacket, tape reinforcement inside front flap fold and spine ends, spine panel sunned with small chips at end, price intact.
