Howe wrote about the small towns of middle America in his fiction as well as his magazine E.W. Howe’s Monthly. His quaint tales of small-town life provide a brilliant snapshot of a time and place we often too-quickly label “simpler.” This book was a lampoon of Sherwood Anderson's book, Winesburg, Ohio, only using humorous character portraits from small towns. A clean presentable copy.
