London: MacMillan and Co., 1882. Hardcover. Very Good +. 5 x 7 1/4 in. xiv, 284 pgs, plus publisher's catalogue. Deep green cloth with gilt decorations and lettering by Caldecott. Charming B&W illus by same throughout text. Gilt sides to text block. Condition is VERY GOOD+ ; corners and ends of spine bumped with almost no wear, covers very clean and bright and gilt marvelous. Very good on spine too. Binding is tight with a crack started inside front hinge that doesn't affect the solidity of the binding. Text is very clean with Contemporary bookplate on front pastedown. An unusually good copy. Fiction. RGR.
