Description:
1698 Glorious Revolution of 1688 1ed Compleat History of Europe England King James

David Jones was a 17th-century English historian who is primarily remembered for describing two monumental European events – the 1688 Glorious Revolution and the Hanoverian Succession in 1714. The Glorious Revolution spurred his greatest work – "A Compleat History of Europe…from 1676 to 1697" – which would become a periodical because of its popularity in the 18th-century. According to Snyder, Jones' 1698 masterpiece was written

Rather than treating his material topically, he described his efforts properly as annals… This work, like all true historical works, is essentially a compilation drawn from contemporary tracts and books, monthlies, newspapers, and any source that came to hand. This is at once the greatest virtue and limitation of his laborious compositions. It preserves a wide variety contemporary accounts of events in a convenient, easy to consult reference work.
