Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Front hinge cracked with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Pencil inscriptions to front free endpaper. Minor dog-eared corners to some pages. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Split to upper front joint and to mid-rear joint. Lettering to spine is dulled. Some fraying to cloth at edges.

324 pages with b&w photos.
Dust jacket in good condition, with several tears and rubbed in places. Otherwise in very good condition. Maroon cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine; slight bumps on corners and rubbed on edges. Pages are rough cut; generally clean; mild spotting on a few pages.

New York: Scribner, 1950. Burgundy Cloth. Good+/Poor. A worn but sound copy, tear/wrinkling to corner of flyleaf, text is clean and unmarked. Jacket quite ragged, wear at corners and edges, 1x1" bottom front (titles unaffected), price clipped. Many B&W photos of the authors travels and adventures all over the world.

The book has lightly bumped corners, good hinges, sound text block, foxing (age-speckling) to endpapers, half-title, outer edges of the text block, and some occasional outer margins, gift notations on front free endpaper, square Asian style name stamp in red (name Parrette) at bottom of half-title, no other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped and has some edgewear, yellowing to the white background of the rear panel, chip to lower spine end affecting author's last name, otherwise little paper loss.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
