A first edition copy of this history of Cowdray House, which was one of England's great Tudor houses. The first edition of this scarce work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with a gilt crest to the front board. Illustrated with a frontispiece and twelve further plates. Collated, complete. Cowdray House in West Sussex was once one of England's great Tudor houses, architecturally comparable to many of that era's great palaces and country houses. It is now a ruin, due to a fire in 1793.
