Fair dustwrapper which is chipped at top of spine, rubbed at side of spine and with a number of tears. The wrapper is price-clipped and is protected in a removable cover.

Roy. 8vo., First Edition, with frontispiece, plates and maps, neat contemporary inscription on front free endpaper; original divisioal red cloth, upper board with divisionsl insignia blocked in gilt, gilt back, a near fine copy in unclipped dustawrapper, the latter with small loss (not affecting lettering) at head and tail of backstrip. Crisp copy of a standard reference chronicling the service of one of the most famous Allied divisions of WWII. Following the well-documented sacrifice of the original division at Dunkirk, the rebuilt unit served with great distinction in North Africa, Sicily and throughout North-West Europe.
