Description:
New York:: John Lane Company, 1920. A square, tight copy. The cover has a few small spots (water splashes?). No owner's name or bookplate. Pages are clean and unmarked. U.S. issue, with sheets printed in Great Britain, but with the title page cancelled and replaced with the publisher's New York imprint. This is a collection of poems by Dorothy Margaret Selby Lowndes (1871?-1950), published under her pseudonym Dolf Wyllarde. Lowndes authored some 40 novels, including The Rat-Trap (1904) The Story of Eden (1906); Tropical Tales and Others (1910); Youth Will Be Served (1913); The Undesigning Widow (1927); The Unofficial Honeymoon (1913); etc. She is also remembered for her poem RONDEAUX D'AMOUR, a celebration of female sexuality that appeared in Vol. IV of the literary periodical THE YELLOW BOOK, AN ILLUSTRATED QUARTERLY (January, 1895). .
