Description:
A complete set of Part V of the Natural History of New York: Agriculture. Five volumes bound in original dark brown cloth with gilt stamping on front boards and spine. The top and tail of the spines are frayed and two of the volumes have library labels on the spine (see photos) plus usual library labels and stamps on front and back endpapers, volume V has a library stamp throughout the text. The top half of the spine on Volume II is lifting away. Volumes II & III (text) are signed by Fred Hubbard who donated these books to the library. Volume III is in two volumes with a separate volume of plates. Multiple plates, black & white and colored, as well as many foldout charts and maps. Some volumes have heavy mottling and tanning. Bindings are firm, full details of each volume available on request. An outstanding body of work on agriculture in the mid-1800s in New York State. Price reflects condition.
