Murray, Utah: Pharos Numbers 1 & 2, 1945. First Edition. Soft cover. First Edition. Soft cover. Williams, Tennessee. BATTLE OF ANGELS. Murray, Utah: Pharos Numbers 1 & 2, 1945. First edition. 8vo., 123pp. A double number of this periodical devoted to Williams, in scarlet printed medium grey wrappers with yapped edges. The author's first separately published work, an early version of "Orpheus Descending". "Published in Murray, Utah, as a little magazine and distributed by New Directions, this was the sole issue and was apparently designed merely to get the play into print." [Gunn p. 4]. A near fine example showing the usual minor wear to the yapped edges which is virtually unavoidable. Gunn A1. A very nice example.
