Tehran, Hereford, 1913. 84 folio album bound in soft green morocco, gilt title to front cover, blank pages coloured pink, pale green, lemon, pale brown with watercolour-painting quality paper sheets interspersed. The book belonged to Miss Hilda King to whom it was presented on Feb 24th 1913 by her friends on the eve of her departure for Teheran where she worked as a governess/nurse. Already a published author of , children's stories (for the Family Herald, October 1911-a copy tipped-in) her identity is confirmed by her entry for a crochet competition which links her to the Indo European Telegraph Company, then a rival to the Anglo-Indian telegraph service and a surviving company from the infamous Reuter Concession of the 1880's, later to become Cable and Wireless. Many of the autograph messages are farewells and in Tehran she received tokens of affection from European families.
