100th Thousand, Illustrated with black & white photographs and drawings
The hardbound cloth brown boards of this book are cosmetically worn and stained, the debossed title and bee decoration are no longer visible, and there is some warping to the rear board, but structurally it is still extremely solid. There is no wear along the top and bottom of the back strip or boards, and the corners remain sharp with minimal bumping. There is a small tear along the gutter of the rear board. in protecting the text block. Spine has a very slight slant with a gap to the green flower endpapers but the hinges are strong with the string binding tight. Text block solid and all pages firmly attached. Age tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner name on front free endpaper. All interior pages are clean with no tears, cracks, or other previous owner marks. Description:
Glossy hardcover paper boards with decorative black & white photograph and bee drawings on the front cover with green paper wrap around the spine to rear board. There is obvious fading to the top of the front board, the spine and approximately 1" of the rear board. There is slight rubbing to both the front and rear boards, back strip with more wear to the corners. Corners also have some bumping. Spine is straight and firm, with no cracking to the endpapers. Text block is solid with all pages firmly attached but with age tanning throughout. The front free endpaper has a few small smudges. All interior pages are clean with no tears, cracks, or previous owner marks. Filled with simple text, black & white photographs and drawing topics covered are: Honey Gatherers, Pollen Carriers, The Hive, The Queen Bee, The New Swarm, Hatching Baby Bees, and Honey. 63 pages Dimensions: H – 5-1/4" W – 6-1/2"

Description:
Decorative glossy heavy hardbound boards are illustrated in color with representative butterflies and caterpillar on a bright sky-blue background. The spine and boards are in excellent condition with no wear or blemishes. All corners are sharp, no bumping or wear. The spine and hinges are firmly attached, with no cracking to the decorative endpapers but there is a slight slant to the spine. Text block is firmly attached with all pages intact. Age tanning throughout but the nearly 300 full-page color illustrations are still vibrant and bold. Previous owner name and date on the front free endpaper. Interior pages are in very good condition with no tears, chips, cracks, or other previous owner marks.
Josef Moucha (1930 – 1972) was a Czech entomologist and lepidopterist, author of numerous books on butterflies.
Bohumil Vančura (1922 - 2013) was Czech graphic artist, illustrator, and painter.

The hardbound thick cloth teal boards with gold debossed pattern to the center, are in excellent condition with only slight cosmetic blemishes. The spine is also free of wear but is sun faded to a pale tan with the black text still very readable. Corners remain sharp with no wear and no bumping. Spine is straight and hinges are strong. Text block is solid with deckled pages, a stain to the top edge has left small blue stains at the top of some pages (top edge would have been blue but is now sun faded). Age tanning throughout. Two previous owner names on front free endpaper. All interior pages are clean with no tears, cracks, or other previous owner marks. 282 pages including the bibliography.
