Description:
Paris: Gallimard, 1950-1958. First editions of all three volumes in Camus's collected articles and commentaries. Octavo, original wrappers as issued. Each volume is fine condition. A rare complete set in exceptional condition. Published separately in three volumes between 1950 and 1958, Camus' Actuelles bring together articles and excerpts from his most important texts, presented chronologically. The first volume, Actuelles consists mainly of articles published in the journal Combat including his important work Morale et Politique. This second volume brings together texts written from 1948 to 1953, primarily Camus' responses to the controversies which followed the publication of L'Homme revolte. Actuelles III, or his Algerian Chronicles, bring together Camus' stories about his native country, from his first articles in 1939 when few people were interested in this country until 1959, shortly before his death.

The founding father of economics, Adam Smith's two great works The Wealth of Nations and The Theory of Moral Sentiments remain two of the most important contributions to the fields of philosophy and political economy. His lectures at the Scottish universities, which he referred to as 'the best seminaries of learning which are to be found anywhere in Europe', established him as one of the most influential teachers of his time. New York: Harper & Row, Publishers, 1979. First edition of Drucker's autobiography. Octavo, original cloth. Warmly inscribed by Peter Drucker on the front free endpaper. Fine in a fine dust jacket. Jacket design by Paul Bacon. Adventures of a Bystander reflects Peter Drucker's vitality, infinite curiosity, and interest in people, ideas, and the forces behind them. He writes with wit and spirit about people he has encountered in a long and varied life, including Sigmund Freud, Henry Luce, Alfred Sloan, John L. Lewis, and Marshall McLuhan. After beginning with his childhood in Vienna during and after World War I, Drucker moves on to Europe in the 1920s and early 1930s, describing the imminent doom posed by Hitler and the Nazis. He then goes on to describe London during the 1930s, America during the New Deal era, the World War II years, and beyond.
