Eugene, Oregon, United States

Hello: Greetings from Oregon. I am a long time on-line bookseller. I buy books in all subjects especially out of print editions. My personal interests are history, military history, American Civil war and western Americana in general. I make a real effort on my descriptions and customer service. Also, I do book searches. Eugene, Oregon if you haven't been here is a very good book town. Have a great day.

Jennifer Leininger

Sweet Home, Oregon, United States

As a child I would wander for hours in the little bookstore and the library of my hometown. The smell of old books mingling along with possibilities of a next adventure always waiting for me. My dream was to have my very own bookstore one day. So others could summon that magical, warm feeling that I remember so fondly. While times may have changed, my love for books of all kinds have not. Now my dream is to get out as many books to every person far and wide, big and small, across the universe if I can. Knowledge is power and one book can change everything. All for the love of books.

Kalapuya Books

Cottage Grove, Oregon, United States

We are an independent bookstore, located since 1997 in a small Oregon community and historic Main Street, nestled in the foothills at the head of the Willamette Valley. Our interests in books lie particularly with environmentally sustainable skills, poetry, creating mindful relations with self and other, human-nature relationships.

About Our Name: Kalapuya Books is named as a tribute to the Kalapuya, First People on the land here which we now call home. They were caretakers, living skillfully and carefully in this area for untold years. The Nez Perce people, from the eastern side of the Cascades, are said to have acknowledged the Kalapuya as healers. The irony and sadness of this is that whole villages were struck and decimated by a devastating epidemic in the early 1800s, resulting in the near loss of a precious culture. Insult and loss of unbearable dimension is acknowledged. We stand on Native Ground.

Phillip J. Pirages Fine Books and Medieval Manuscripts

McMinnville, Oregon, United States

Phillip J. Pirages Fine Books an Manuscripts was established in 1978 on a ping pong table in a basement in Kalamazoo, Michigan. From the beginning, its founder was willing to sell a range of material, but over the years, the business has gravitated toward historical artifacts that are physically attractive in some way--illuminated material, fine bindings, books printed on vellum, fore-edge paintings, beautiful typography and paper, impressive illustration. Today, the company still sells a wide range of things, from (scruffy) ninth century leaves to biblical material from all periods to Wing and STC imprints to modern private press books to artists' bindings. While we are forgiving about condition when something is of considerable rarity, we always try to obtain the most attractive copies possible of whatever we offer for sale.

As time goes on the seas become tumultuous, the winds tortuous. Storm after storm thrashed upon our two sailors, finally pulling one hand from the other... after what felt like an eternity, the sun broke through the clouds, revealing only one remain...Red chose that day to carry on the dream that they envisioned together so long ago in that run down tavern.. as long as the adventures, the stories are shared they will be remembered.. and they will live on. The Prints & The Paper leans toward non-fiction and technical books including agriculture, books on books, book arts, art, livestock, Western Americana, crafts, trade catalogs, ephemera, esoterica and curiosa.
