Gift inscribed at head of title-page: "To Miss Forrest as a small token of regard from The Author". A very good copy in attractive publishers cloth. Romantic epic set in the mountains of Ireland, with a selection of verse including several with a Scottish borders connection and an "Address to the Ladies, Versatile Polishers of Mankind". Rare, COPAC locates just two copies; at the National Library of Scotland and the University of Aberdeen.

Report on the arraignment of Peter Barnes and others on a charge of murder at the 1939 Birmingham Assizes, in connection with the bombing of Coventry in which a civilian was killed. Barnes and one of his associates were convicted and executed, following a trial which was regarded as a fine example of how a case should be presented. Scarce in the dust-jacket.

Critical biography of the American poet by the English writer and critic (1895-1965). The enclosed postcard is from Fausset to psychic medium Dora Head who "connected" with Whitman at seances and also photographed Whitman psychometrically, and the content refers to the recent publication of the book and descibed Head as "a friend of Walt".
