This is a book of poetry by Michael Oakley, who entered the monastic community at Belmont Abbey as Bro.James. He produced the books entirely himself at the press at Belmont, and it is limited to 500 copies, of which this is number 253. Many of the poems are of a religious nature and on theological themes, many call upon nnatural imagery and inovke the local countryside. A general sense of melancholy pervades the poems, which is invoked through references to the passing of the season.The book is in generally Good condition, with some staining to the fabric on the boards. There is an inscription in the author's unique handwriting on the front endpaper, and the pages inside are all clean and legible.
