Which resulted in the blue boards being whitened along the top edge. More noticeable on the rear cover. This also resulted in the end papers having a brown stain along the top edge, which is more noticeable in the front than the back. But none of this has affected the text pages, which are clean and appear unread. Deckle-edged. Tight binding. No date of publication but the Preface page has September, 1909.

There is a 2" to 3" section along the edges of the front and back boards where the cloth covering has been scraped off (perhaps gnawed off) revealing the hardboard underneath, but this does not extend into the text pages. Boards also have moderate edgewear and soiling. Previous owner's name on FFEP. 1899 hardcover with aqua boards.
