This is a fantastic artifact of New York State's legislative history. It was assigned to Alfred Chamberlain, representative from Otsego County, NY. (Famous Cooperstown is the County Seat.) There is quite a bit of historical information here and works as a primary source especially relevant to anyone trying to understand the history of the government, especially of New York State.
The gilt on the spine has suffered some damage and a small tear. See Photos. Diagrams which are attached have caused the covers to bend outwards though everything is well attached. Covers are worn and bumped. Pages are intact.
The pages are supple, no foxing, though they probably were a lighter color when new. The two diagrams are separate fold outs- the Senate Chamber and the Assembly Chamber. The Assembly Chamber is larger and has more tearing around the edges and excessive creasing. The diagram of the Senate chamber is on a smaller sheet of paper and less distressed.
