This announcement for performances at Jimmy Ryan's Club lists many of the same performers noted on other promotional placards from 1944-45, thus our attribution of the date. These include Sidney Bechet, Max Kaminsky, George Zack, Milt Mezzrow, George Wettling, Art Hodes, Ed Hall, Sandy Williams, Danny Alvin and Pops Foster. Featured at the head of this billing is jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer Sidney Bechet, considered today one of the first important soloists in jazz. A scarce, well-preserved piece of ephemera.

Critics respond to 14 films of the 60s including *Hud, Skammen (Shame), Yellow Submarine, Dr. Strangelove*, and *A Hard Day's Night.* Neal Gabler, who edited this volume and contributed several pieces, would go on to become a noted film critic and author; he was a student at the University of Michigan when this was published. The lower wrap advertises a series of screenings of movies discussed within, at UM's Angell Hall, from January to April 1970. Presumably printed in very small numbers.
