This scarce Print Bible is also called the Schutbijbel because of the name of the engraver of the prints, Pieter Hendrik Schut (1619-1662). Schut also added his own designs to the Merian prints. Each title print is in Latin, Dutch, German, English, and French. The Sacred Histories of the Old and New Testament, represented by very artificial figures. Preface in four languages. There is also a caption in rhyme in these five languages under each engraving. Complete copy with 277 engravings by Pieter Schut after the prints of Mattheus Merian.
