San Francisco, 1875 Printed and manuscript. One leaf (2pp.) with original promissory note attached. Dated October 1, 1875. Includes the original envelope. Creased where folded, right edge of sheet a little rough a few very short edge tears. Overall, very good. and I feel called by God to convert them." Kallock became pastor of Metropolitan Temple, the city's largest church, and the candidate of the Workingmen's party for Mayor. His campaign attacked not only Chinese labor and the Big Four but also Charles de Young, whose Chronicle opposed him. In cold blood de Young shot Kalloch at his church. Kalloch survived to become Mayor of San Francisco…

The expedition passed up Smith Sound at the head of Baffin Bay, and advanced into the enclosed sea which now bears the name of Kane Basin, thus establishing the Polar route of many future Arctic expeditions. Here the expedition passed two winters, and attained what was to remain…

Description:
Eureka, California: The Author, 1942 First edition. 12mo. 31pp. Green wrappers printed in black. Quite scarce. An early argument against any diversion of the Trinity River for purposes of irrigation and electric energy for the Sacramento Valley. As it happened, the plan was developed and finalized by the United States Bureau of Reclamation in the late 1950's, dams were ultimately built, and by 1970 it was obvious that Mr. Kendall was right: the extent of habitat alteration and decline in salmon and steelhead populations became obvious. Finally, in 1999, the Trinity River Flow Evaluation study was completed which was the foundation of the Trinity River Restoration Program, designed to restore naturally-spawning populations of salmon and steelhead to near pre-dam levels.
