First edition, volume 2 only (of 2), octavo; 416pp. In contemporary full cats-paw calf (lightly worn, spine rubbed with loss at foot, front hinge weak and held by cords), single gilt fillet to board margins, raised spine bands, gilt lettered green leather volume number label present but title label missing, remains of removed old ownership label to front pastedown, sporadic light spotting otherwise a clean copy, with engraved frontispiece of Marie Antoinette's secret cipher. A good odd volume example of this uncommon early account.

First edition thus, undated but circa 1792; 12mo; [viii], 280pp. In late eighteenth century half leather over marbled board (somewhat worn with minor loss to extremities), spine divided into six compartment by gilt single fillets, gilt lettered red leather spine label to second compartment; two old ownership labels to front pastedown, engraved vignette to title page, with frontispiece and three further plates (of four, lacking plate IV), spotting and offsetting to plates (as often), otherwise a very good clean copy.

In eighteenth century full leather over five raised spine bands with gilt lettered leather title and volume labels to second and third compartments respectively (binding very lightly worn), remaining spine compartments gilt, original marbled endpapers, very light unobtrusive spotting to opening and closing leaves, Lady Jane Gray pp.41-44 loose with chipped fore-edge, overall a very clean example. Third edition, octavo; vi, 254, [iv]pp. In attractive full contemporary calf over five raised spine bands between gilt double fillets, gilt lettered spine label to second compartment (chipped with loss), gilt fleur-de-lis in remaining compartments, sporadic unobtrusive spots and stains, pencillings to rear pastedown and early engraved ownership label to front pastedown ('Capt.
