BINDING/CONDITION: blue binding; the top edge tint is yellow; the spine is slightly slanted, otherwise a Very Good book, with a Very Good dust jacket.. 8vo (8.5 inches tall) . Description: Dust jacket design by J Luis Pellicer. Beautiful Patty Palmer was demanding and self-centered. Her best friend, Ginger Johnston, was a cheerful second-fiddle, absorbed in other people and the world around her. Patty didn't like it when her brother compared her unfavorably to Ginger, but she had to admit most people did prefer Ginger. Nor did Patty understand her friend's interest in 'Spark Plug' Blake who seemed to care more for his car than for Ginger. Patty also assumed that she and Tim Ford were practically steadies, but when Tim didn't share her feelings, Patty blamed Ginger. How Ginger takes her first step in emotional independence and how the girls sort out their friendship form the basis of this story. Janet Lambert wrote a number of novels…

BINDING/CONDITION: blue cloth binding; the top edge tint is yellow; series device with horseshoe on the cover; a Very Good+ book, with a Good dust jacket.. 8vo (8.25 inches tall) . Description: Illustrated by Gertrude Howe. The publisher's blurb reads: ''No one could keep the champion trotter, David Hal, in as good a mod before a great race as Roscoe. Roscoe had spent the night before each race with the horse and he had won them all. When the time came for the Spring Handicap, Roscoe was not allowed to remain in the stall, and so began the romantic and varied life of the boy and the horse away from the racetrack. The circus, a farm, the grocery business -- they tried them all, to find that each had its good points and bad. From the jacket blurb: ''Children's games and toys have been used by artists as metaphors for the expectations, achievements and fallibility of adult life throughout the history of Western art. And similarly the natural and instinctive character of children's relationships has been symbolized by relations with animals. Miracles become all the more emotive and impressive when they involve birth or the rescue of children from mortal danger. Illness, death and commemoration are made both more powerful and more palatable through the depiction of children, whether it be the Massacre of the Innocents, the iconography of foundlings, or the transmutation of dead babies into putti.
