2016. AN/AN. This is Emily with her peg doll. The were created and hand painted by Heather Maciak for the 2016 Annual Conference of the United Federation of Doll Clubs. The 2016 meeting was held in Washington, DC, and featured a major exhibition of dolls, books and ephemera relating to Tasha Tudor. The exhibit was created by Margaret Kincaid, herself a descendant of the Tudor family. Emily is 8 ½" high with red hair. She is in a mint green dress with a white voile apron, green cross stitch border. Emily boasts white leather high top shoes and carries her peg doll close to her. Signed by Heather Maciak on her backside.

The back has a 3-paragraph blurb with advertising from the Ginger & Pickles Store, Contoocook, NH. "Announcement of her new Christmas cards and book for 1955 will be made in mid-summer" indicating this was sent in the Spring ?

Generally a good clean copy.

Tudor, Tasha. 49 pp. Endpapers of this first collaboration between husband-author and wife-illustrator features a view of the McCready's Webster, NH, farmstead from the south pasture. A view into Tasha's world in the 1950s. The English reprint followed the American first edition by 7 years. The lower right corner of front flap seems always to be price clipped. The pearl gray paper over board covers carry no printing. The dust jacket shows light wear: rubbing along edges, light soiling and chipping at the corners.

This is the earlier of two versions with the front statement: Open Daily 1-5. "...in 1954 a part of this home was remodeled to serve as a store and doll museum... we expanded our Christmas Card line in 1954..." Includes a hand drawn map on the back from Route 202 through Hopkinton village and north to the McCready house in Webster, NH.

Dust jacket is sunned with light soil, but mostly complete. A half inch chunk is missing from back, and five other small chips at the folds. Dust jacket folded a little off.

The dust jacket has light soiling and rubbing at the spine and edges, but no tears or missing pieces. A very nice copy overall, considering the age of the book and popularity of Tasha Tudor's books.

Tasha Tudor. 48 pp. + [4], This is a second distribution with the new price on the dust jacket flap: $2.75 | 40-80. This is the finest copy of this rare book that we've seen. Even the dust jacket is still white on the front and doesn't show age discoloration. We have handled only about a dozen copies in our 30 years of dealing with Tudor's books. A very clean and tight copy with black and white and 17 color illustrations. Some show details of the Webster, NH, house. Tudor drew one self-portrait of herself in the illustrations. A highly desirable and uncommon book about a spunky cat who lived with the McCready family. The double endpapers give a group picture of the animals recorded in books from the McCready farm in New Hampshire. This copy found in New Hampshire.

This is an advertising piece from the McCready-Tudor shop which operated in Webster, NH, in the 1950s. A small reproduction from the Irene Dasha Christmas card CT 26-72C in the upper left corner. Lists 23 books (most recently Mr. Stubbs published August 17, '56 and One is One published October 25th) Each Copy Autographed. Describes correspondence cards and an inventory of "over 40 Christmas cards with emphasis on the 1956 "Preview" box assortment of 12 for $2.15. For the first time there are scaled prices for CT series at $6.50, ET series at $7.75 and FT series at 9.00 for 25 cards and envelopes. This advertising piece is printed on both sides.
