Four volume complete set, of which two are elephant folio volumes depicting 296 facsimile colored plates and the additional two volumes are 8vo English text descriptions. Half dark blue morocco over blue cloth with six raised bands each. Gilt particulars to spines; all edges gilt. The additional smaller volumes have bright red cloth with gilt titles to spines. Chip to hinge of volume one. Dewey decimal blindstamped to foot of spines of folios. Overall, nice clean copies without previous owners' names or other markings. A large and quite heavy set. Folios measure 16 x 22 in, while the 8vo are 6.75 x 10.25 in.

Original serigraph by Maccoy presented to Ten-Thirty Gallery's members as a 1945 membership bonus. According to the accompanying text, Maccoy was inspired by objects found in pre-Colombian culture and by the Mound Builders. Maccoy is quoted regarding this artwork: "These objects are of great inspiration to me because of their space breaking beauty. I use them in creative arrangements as one would in a still life set up. While painting a pre-Columbian [sic] culture map mural for the Brooklyn Museum under the guidance of Dr. Spinden, I used Mayan and Aztec codices for research material. the color in this design is personal but may have been influenced by the research I have done in this field." Typed manuscript of [iii], 57 sur blanc leaves. green cloth covered boards, gilt particulars to cover and spine. Includes typed bound-in letter signed by author to Guillermo Tamayo dated June 1967. Manuscript (circa 1967) chronicles the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo (Venezuela) that took place July 24,1823, last battle of the Venezuelan War of Independence. This manuscript was commissioned by Rear Admiral Daniel José Gámez Calcaño and Rear Admiral Pablo Cohen Guerrero as tribute from the "Instituto National de Canalizaciones" to the Naval Academy on the inauguration of their new building.
