Gilt lettering and circular devices. Colour leather onlay illustration of Peter Pan on a tree stump, to front board. Single gilt ruled border to both boards. All edges gilt. Leather turn inswith single gilt ruled lines. Plain endpapers. The binding is not signed but is certainly the work of a skilled craftsman.

Illustrated with a colour frontis and forty nine full colour plates, all mounted onto thick art paper pages at back of book, each one with a printed tissue guard. Decorative endpapers with map of Kensington Gardens. A near fine, bright and clean copy throughout in original russet cloth binding with gilt stamped decoration and lettering to front board and spine. Very minor rubbing to hinges and a small bump to the lower front board at the outer corner, but overall a beautiful clean copy of this classic. Among the very best of Rackham's work.

Green marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Green silk bookmark sewn in. Housed in a green morocco covered slip-case with the same gilt tooling to the front panel. A fine copy of this beautiful book, the first detailed study of the remote regions of Oman from Musandam in the north, to the Hajar Mountains, Dhofar and the Empty Quarter, via the coastline that extends some 1,000 miles. --- Only 3 copies listed on Worldcat, in Oman, UAE, and Lebanon.

NP. 1951. Oblong 4to. (11.5 x 7.9 inches). Beautiful calligraphic manuscript in red and black. Six leaves written on both sides on hand made paper, plus four blank leaves, all sewn in with red cord. In a fine leather binding of full dark brown morocco with bevelled edges to the boards. Multiple blind ruled line borders and gilt ruled panel with floral corner pieces to the front board. A little rubbing and marking to the binding but still a very good attractive volume. ---- The carols included are; God rest you merry, gentlemen, Annunciation Carol, The Shepherd's cradle song, King Jesus hath a garden, Nowell! Nowell!, In the manger he lies, Falan-Tiding, O little town of Bethlehem, The holy well, Midwinter, The infant king, Ding dong merrily on high, A carol of adoration, The first Nowell.

Front board and spine lettered in white. In the original dustwrapper which reproduces the boards. Just a hint of rubbing to the extremities of the boards and some creases to the edges of the wrapper but overall a very good copy throughout.

Collins. London. 1959. PROOF COPY OF FIRST EDITION. 8vo. (7.9 x 5.5 inches). Illustrated throughout with charming line drawings by Judith Brook, including both sets of endpapers. A very good clean copy in publishers blue marbled paper wraps. In the original full colour illustrated dustwrapper, designed by Selma Nankivell, featuring illustrated adverts for the first two of Michael Bond's Paddington Bear titles on the rear cover. A crease to the lower rear panel and a little rubbing and chipping to the extremities but overall a very good book in a very good dustwrapper. A scarce item.

School arms and motto stamped in gilt to the front board and a school prize label, from Woodlands School in Deganwy in North Wales, to the front pastedown endpaper. A little rubbing to the extremities but overall a very good and attractive copy.

A little spotting to some pages but generally a very good copy in contemporary full brown calf, re-backed with the original calf spine, ruled in gilt, laid down and a new red title label, gilt. A very good copy of Wollstonecraft's eloquent observations on Scandinavian people and places in the late eighteenth century. Published in London in 1796, just six years after her seminal work A Vindication of the rights of Women. Covering a mixture of subjects, approached from a personal, sociological and philosophical viewpoint, the book was a commercial and critical success, with Godwin praising it; "if ever there was a book calculated to make a man fall in love with its author, this appears to me to be the book".

The Casanova Society. London. 1925. LIMITED EDITION. 8vo. One of 50 copies, this out of series but inscribed by the author to, and with two letters to, the writer Carl Eric Bechhofer Roberts (known as Ephesian) and with his bookplate to the front pastedown endpaper. Two letters relating to black masses are loosely inserted, one is hand written and simply signed A, and another, typed on two sheets, is signed by Mather's wife Rosamond. A very good copy in the marbled paper covered boards with black letering to the spine. In the original dustwrapper which is darkened to the spine but has done it's job of keeping the book in nice condition.

Some very minor browning to the page edges, as is common with the cheap paper used in this book, and a couple of pages with a crease to the outer corner of the page, otherwise a very good copy finely bound in recent full black morocco, spine with five raised bands, the compartments lettered, ruled and decorated in gilt. Top edge gilt.

Secker & Warburg. London. 1965. FIRST EDITION. The author's 1st book. A near fine copy in very good dustwrapper which shows some minor darkening to the spine but is still crisp and bright. Publishers file copy with their label on front paste down, giving the publication date as June 3 1965.

Previous owners attractive armorial bookplate (Samuel Wells, Jun. of Huntingdon) to all of the front pastedown endpapers and neat hand written notes to the first 2 volume's front free endpapers. Overall a very god set.

Publishers blue cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. In the original plain brown paper dustwrapper, lettered in black to the front panel and spine. A fine copy in a near fine dustwrapper with some abrasion to the bottom of the front panel but overall in bright and clean condition.
