Old neat inscription across top of front pastedown and endpaper, weakly crossed out (see image), otherwise a near Fine clean bright copy of this quite uncommon Dumpy book. This was the last in the series, No. 40, commissioned by Grant Richards but published by Chatto and Windus after Richards' bankruptcy in 1904.
