Description:
Very good copy, light creases on outer cover, otherwise crisp. The book has been opened, but there are no defects to the pages. ///Edited with introduction by Gabriela Burkhalter. Text by Xavier de la Salle, Vincent Romagny, Sreejata Roy. // Until sometime in the 1980s, playgrounds were places for social experiments, risky projects and spectacular sculptures. Architects, urban planners, artists, parents and children were invited to leave their comfort zones and to venture something new in the design and use of playgrounds. The Playground Project explores these exemplary initiatives, pioneering acts and adventures in designing modern childhood. Examples from Europe, the US, Japan and India are discussed in depth and illustrated with numerous images. Truly a comprehensive overview, this volume includes works by artists, architects and landscape architects such as Marjory Allen, Joseph Brown, Riccardo Dalisi, Richard Dattner, Aldo van Eyck, M. Paul Friedberg, Group Ludic (Xavier de la Salle, Simon…

Description:
Excellent condition. Shelf life with light marks on the outer cover nearly unnoticable, content as new. This edition of Fashion Magazine is devoted solely to the work of French photographer Lise Sarfati. In her portraiture, Sarfati dramatizes the intensities of fashionably clad adolescence in the insolently sensual creatures she encounters on the roads of America. Couching their lightly worn street elegance in moody sobriety, Sarfati presses pause on the activities in which her subjects are engaged and extracts their quintessential sensuality, to produce a type of photography that partakes of both fashion and portraiture idioms without quite belonging to either. Redolent in this respect of Alain Resnais' Last Year at Marienbad, in which the camera deliberately and continually "overgrooms" the emotional drama, Sarfati's work is likewise utterly seductive and compelling.

Description:
Out of print – Located on the Kaipara Harbour in New Zealand, 45 km north of Auckland, Te Tuhirangi Contour is one of Richard Serra's largest site-specific works. The site is a vast open grass pasture with rolling hills and the fall and rise of the land establishes curvilinear contours. The sculpture is located on one continuous contour, at a length of 257m (843'2"). The particular contour was chosen for its location, differentiation, contraction and expansion in relation to the volume of the landscape. The elevation of the sculpture is perpendicular to the fall of the land and thereby generates its lean of 11 degrees and its height of 6 m (19'8").This book thoroughly documents Richard Serra's impressive sculpture in Dirk Reinarzt's elegant black-and-white photography.
Minimal wear to dust jacket, and slight pages tanning (not affecting the content).

Description:
Edition of 1000. /// Open copy that looks new and has no defects. "Loves roses" are glass tubes, 3/8 inches in diameter, 4 inches long. Covered on one end with foil, each contains a cloth flower: red, yellow, blue, violet, white or green. They are duplicitous objects. If you ask one kind of person, they'll tell you these "stems" are romantic offerings, valentine's gifts. If you ask another kind of person, they'll tell you these are pipes for smoking crack cocaine. In September 2008 at a palazzo gallery in Brescia, Italy, Dan Colen and Nate Lowman installed the third incarnation of an evolving body of collaborative work. A long-envisioned but, until Italy, unrealized plan for a sculpture had been a "beaded" curtain made of "love roses" (and titled the same). The curtain was hung in a doorway leading into the ornate spaces housing the rest of their show. Dash snow arrived in Brescia when Colen and Lowman were finishing their installation. A close friend of the collaborators, snow had documented their…
