Exteriors are modestly crimped at the spine ends and minimally rubbed. Interiors are unmarked, clear, and minimally age toned throughout. All four hinges are starting , but still holding nicely. Each volume has a ribbon bookmark. This is the "Illustrated Holiday Edition", with multiple illustrations, replete with tiisue guards, in each volume. Some "transference " staining from the ribbons on those pages.321 & 361 pp. Very claasy set..

Frst Trade Edition....SIGNED and INSCRIBED on a laid in letter dated April 15, 1975 to Mr.Walter Allen, Graduate School of Library Science, University of Illinois, Champaign -Urbana. This is the first book written by this winner of the 1983 Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Stories...Book is in very good condition with no markings inside....clean and tight with a little toning on exterior page edges...exterior is also very good with minimal bumping.

This copy is VG in a VG, unclipped ( $1.75) , Mylar protected DJ. Exterior has about 1/2" modest fading across the top front and top/bottom of spine, otherwise minimal edge or spine wear. Inside has pictorial EPs, is unmarked, crisp, and modestly/evenly toned. DJ has open tears ( about 3/4") at top/bottom of spine, a 2" by 2" open tear at top front corner, and a few other medium chips on the back , both top and bottom. Otherwise DJ still clean and bright. SCARCE in DJ..

Warren was a Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for History. This set comes in a black cardboard slipcase with paste on labels/black tiles. Books are blue cloth with gilt tiles to the spine. These are VG+ and the slipcase is VG. Exteriors have modest sunning to the spine and just a hint of rubbing. No edge wear. Insides are unmarked, crisp and tightly bound with minimal toning. 814pp and 812 pp. respectively. Slipcase has modest/ moderate rubbing to the tips and edges and one 1/2" separation starting at top open edge. Still solid and secure. Labels are unworn and clear. Very nice.
