Magnificent album containing a set of 28 large Chinese gouaches painted on rice paper in fresh colors, each framed in gold paper.
Among these 28 gouaches, 11 are dedicated to the sumptuous ceremony organized in honor of the 70th birthday of the Chinese general Guo Ziyi in 767.
Guo Ziyi, born in 697, died July 9, 781, also posthumously called Prince Zhōngwǔ of Fényáng (汾陽忠武王), was a Tang Dynasty general, who ended the An Lushan Revolt (one of the greatest civil wars in history, which took place from December 16, 755 to February 17, 763) and participated in expeditions against the Uyghur Khaganate and the Tibetan Empire.

Extremely rare album intended for children of the wealthy bourgeoisie made in Augsburg, in 1799, during the Napoleonic Wars.It is composed of 34 full-page copper-engravings, colored at the time, mounted on 18 thick leaves on guards.
Measuring 24 x 35 cm, they were produced by the engraver and printer from Augsburg Johann Martin Will (1726-1806).
The large views are in a nice contemporary coloring,are numbered in the top right corner and bear the signature J. Mart. Will A.V. on the lower margin.
The album contains:
· 4 leaves with large street scenes (n° 1, 2, 3, 6).

The set comprises "a frontispiece and 20 copper-engraved plates (210 x 85 mm), unnumbered".
J. Thiebaud (Bibliographie des ouvrages français sur la chasse), says it is "very rare".
The engravings represent horses, deers, cows, rabbits, bears, boars, dog, butterflies, ostriches, birds, ducks, swans, peacocks …
They are the work of Queen Elizabeth of England's painter, Marcus Gheeraerts the Elder, born in Bruges towards 1530.
Painter and engraver, he studied with his father, Eghbert Gerards, in the Guilde in Bruges in 1558, then with Marten de Vos. In 1571 he was a painter for the queen Elizabeth of England.
A work by a great artist in contemporary condition.
