Description:
New York: Magnum Photos. No Binding. As New/No Jacket. Richard Earlom. A "family portrait" photograph of Picasso's nephew standing before an oil painting of Picasso. Black and white silver gelatin print. MAGNUM photo library print verso. Exhibited MacGill Gallery. A deeply psychological portrait of the painter Pablo Picasso as a young artist and his close look-alike nephew. Both men wear a similar mustache. We see the plainly dressed Picasso in the background and his smartly dressed nephew in the foreground. Picasso's gaze is directed toward the viewer, while his nephew looks away, preoccupied. This family portrait invites us to consider the family resemblance and the difference in personality. Ingeborg Hermine Morath ( 27 May 1923 - 30 January 2002) was an Austrian photographer. In 1953, she joined the Magnum Photos Agency, founded by top photographers in Paris, and became a full photographer with the agency in 1955. Morath's achievements during her first decade of work as a… Read More

Description:
London. No Binding. Very Good/No Jacket. Pigeon Hole" hand-colored copper engraving by Thomas Rowlandson (13 July 1757 ? 21 April 1827) in which is depicted the discomfort and crowding of the common masses gathered to watch a performance at Covent Garden, London. A brief biography of Rowlandson: He was an English artist and caricaturist of the Georgian Era, noted for his political satire and social observation. A prolific artist and printmaker, Rowlandson produced a wide variety of illustrations for novels, joke books, and topographical works. Like other contemporary pre-Victorian caricaturists like James Gillray, he too depicted characters in bawdy postures. His caricatures included those of people in power such as the Duchess of Devonshire, William Pitt and Napoleon Bonaparte. Condition: Good. Some light toning.
